IB students study a broad spectrum of subjects and engage in research (Extended Essay) and experiential learning through school, community, and international activities. In the forty years since its founding, the IB Diploma has become a symbol of academic integrity and intellectual promise, recognized by leading universities in the U.S. and throughout the world.Pre-Diploma Program (PDP)
The Pre-Diploma Program is a challenging program for students in grades 9 and 10 developed to prepare students for the Diploma Program.
PDP students will learn how to learn, develop an understanding of academic integrity and honesty, and will practice assessments modeled after those given in the DP. Students who undergo the Pre-Diploma Program will be prepared to enter either the Diploma Programme, or the Career-Related Programme.IB
Diploma Programme (DP)
According to IBO.org (2015), the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is for students aged 16-19. The programme aims to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge – students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) assesses student work as direct evidence of achievement against the stated goals of the Diploma Programme (DP) courses (IBO.org, 2015).
The DP curriculum is made up of six subject groups and the DP core, comprising theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS) and the extended essay. Through the DP core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research and undertake a project that often involves community service.
