  • DC Trip 2019

Hammond Westside Montessori took its' first inaugural trip to Washington, D.C., March 7-9. The students spent three jam packed days visiting and seeing all the sights that our Nation's Capital has to offer. Some of the highlights included visiting all the monuments and memorials on the National Mall like the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial, the Martin Luther King Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial. The students toured the White House, visited Representative Steve Scalise's office where they were treated to a tour of the Capitol, visited the Holocaust Museum, and toured Arlington Cemetery where they witnessed the changing of the guards. The students and chaperones all had a wonderful time, and we are looking forward to offering this experience to all our future 8th grade classes! Those students and chaperones attending this year included: Mr. Oller, Mrs. Blades, Mrs. Colona, Samuel Bell, Piper Bentivegnia, Lamaurion Cook, Carter Copsey, Caniya Cyprian, Adam DeArmond, Tristan Howard, Alayna Huggins, YaKennya Jones, Ger'Lacia Toney, Quan'A'Nira Turner, Baily Vasquez, and Aaron Ward.

    FPB Donation

On Friday, January 25, 2019, Brandi Cambre, with Florida Parishes Bank made a donation to Hammond Westside Montessori for $200. HWM would like to thank FPB for their generosity and support of the school, students, faculty, staff, and administration at HWM. The money will be used to support the school's PBIS Tier II program  that Becky Navarra, Administrative Assistant works with. This part of the PBIS program teaches students social and/or coping skills, implements a Check In Check Out program with students where they are held accountable for their actions and behaviors, and provides incentives and rewards for students as well. Thank you FPB for your support of our community and the students and families we serve!
