My philosophy on teaching is that, children, equipped with the right attitude and tools, can accomplish any mission they set out to achieve. I believe that I can help my students discover those essential tools that are the key to their success. We explore and sharpen skills daily by embracing a classroom culture of respect for all individuals; working toward personal triumph in our content area; and striving for leadership.

I was born, raised, and educated in Hammond; therefore I am fully committed and invested in the needs of the students in Tangipahoa Parish. I obtained both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southern University and A&M College, Baton Rouge campus. I immediately returned to my roots to give my skills and talents back to the community that help to groom me into the person I’ve become. This is my third year at Martha Vinyard Elementary and I am devoted to preparing my students for the future. My personal mission statement is “Empowering others to become active learners and productive leaders”.

I am married to Leonard Williams and we have three fantastic children: Cameron, 23; Madison, 17; and Kaylee 15. We are proud Saints and Jaguar fans. I enjoy football as much as my husband, so we spend the weekend watching football games and eating good Louisiana foods. In addition to spending quality time with my family, my passion is working with the youth department at my church, Greenfield Missionary Baptist Church; and doing community service with my sorority, Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc.
