Hi there! My name is Megan Dauzat- pronounced “Doe-Zah”- but most of my students call me “Ms. D”. I will be teaching you Earth Science this year. I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2009 with a degree in middle school education with focuses in Math and Science.  I have been married to my husband, Scott, since 2008 and we welcomed our first daughter, Elizabeth, in November of 2014.

I believe that students learn best by doing and when the topic is relevant to them. Because of this, I try to incorporate many hands-on activities into our lessons. I also believe that students better retain that knowledge when they find it for themselves. When possible, I allow students to explore the topics and make their own observations and discoveries.

In our classroom, we will be using interactive notebooks (INBs). These notebooks will contain information in a variety of ways- notes, foldables, diagrams, etc. It is very important that you bring your INB, along with scissors and glue, to class every day.

I am very excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to working with you!
