Please contact your service provider to report home outages and to receive updated information on restoration.
The Tangipahoa Parish School System will no longer provider Hot Spots to students.
Suggestions for Wifi
Please check with your community library. Many are offering free wifi services to our students. You may be able to park in their parking lot and access wifi from your Tangischools issued devices. Also, our school parking lots may be open for students to use in the evenings or weekends. Please reach out to your child's teacher or school office for more information. If your child is having difficulty completing assignments from home, please notify your teachers. Our teachers and admins are understanding of the circumstances that our students and families are facing (because many of us are facing them too!). An email or a call to the school is the place to start.
Emergency Broadband Program
All TPSS students qualify for a discounted internet service rate through the Emergency Broadband Program!
Our district qualifies for assistance since all students were approved to receive free/reduced meal this school year.
This benefit will help lower the cost of broadband service for eligible households during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
This program provides a discount of up to a $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for qualifying households on qualifying Tribal lands. The benefit also provides a discount of up to $100 per household toward a one-time purchase of a desktop computer, laptop or tablet purchased through a participating broadband provider.
SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
The Emergency Broadband Benefit enrollment begins May 12, 2021. Eligible households can enroll through a participating broadband provider or directly with the Universal Service Administrative Company using an online or mail-in application. Additional information about the Emergency Broadband Benefit is available at www.fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit, or by calling 833-511-0311 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. any day of the week.
