Student Use of Technology
TPSS Tech Tips
Students can visit our Tech Tips page for guidance on using their TPSS issued device to complete school assignments. We also have great tips on digital citizenship, internet safety, and reporting online safety concerns.

TPSS Devices
Chromebooks
Students in grades K-8 will utilize Chromebooks which are housed and kept in classrooms carts and managed by teachers, so they are always charged and readily available to students for classroom assignments and assessments. Students in grades 5-8 will have access to Chromebooks with bigger screens, which increases the visibility of work assignments, programs, and other resources. Students who are participating in after-school intervention programs or have other specific needs will have the option of taking a device home if needed. High School students will continue to carry devices between school and home until further notice.
Device Loan Agreement
TPSS has purchased a district wide Accidental Damage Plan (ADP) for Chromebooks. Any accidental damage to Chromebooks will be covered under the TPSS Accidental Damage Plan with no charge to the student’s account. Chromebooks take the place of traditional textbooks and are utilized for state and local assessments.
The Device Loan Agreement is signed by the student and parent.
Please sign and return page 2 of the agreement which acknowledges the terms of the agreement.
Acceptable Use Policy
The TPSB believes it is necessary for all persons to become aware of the acceptable use of technology. Any person using computers or other electronic information resources shall be required to use such equipment and resources in a responsible, legal manner. The School Board retains the right to monitor all computer usage and files for compliance to all regulations and/or procedures
Photo Opt-Out
Photography & Video of students
It is the policy of Tangipahoa Parish School Board to allow photographs and video footage of students to be used in district produced materials including but not limited to web sites, brochures, social media, posters, other printed materials, and news media. If you wish to opt-out of this policy on behalf of your student and not have their picture published for any reason, fill out this form and return it to your child's school.
Pay A Technology Fee
SchoolCash Online is the program we use to pay for school-related fees such as supply fees, yearbook purchases, field trips, athletic events, and technology fees. Set up your account to pay your student's fees.

Suggestions for Wifi
Please check with your community library. Many are offering free wifi services to our students. You may be able to park in their parking lot and access wifi from your Tangischools issued devices. Also, our school parking lots may be open for students to use in the evenings or weekends. Please reach out to your child's teacher or school office for more information. If your child is having difficulty completing assignments from home, please notify your teachers. Our teachers and admins are understanding of the circumstances that our students and families are facing (because many of us are facing them too!). An email or a call to the school is the place to start.
Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)
The ACP is no longer accepting applications. The last fully funded month of ACP was April 2024. Consumers can apply for another federal benefit called Lifeline. Your internet company may be able to assist you in staying connected. Consumers should reach out to their internet company to see if they offer alternative low-cost internet plans. They may be able to help you enroll in a new and affordable plan even though the ACP benefit is no longer available.
Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)
Can I still save on internet service?
You may qualify for Lifeline, a government program that offers eligible consumers dicounts off the cost of phone, internet, or bundled services (if you live on qualifying Tribal lands). To apply, you’ll have to provide your information again; your information to the Lifeline application.
