Changes Effective January 1, 2025 from the 2024 Third Extraordinary Session of the LA Legislature.
Payment of Taxes
The Sales Tax Division of the Tangipahoa Parish School System serves as the single sales tax collector for all political subdivisions which levy a sales and use tax in the parish, including the School Board, Parish Council, Municipalities, Fire Protection District, and Educational Facilities Improvement District.
Payments of Sales and Use Tax can be made by one of the following methods:
1. Online at www.salestaxonline.com or www.parishe-file.revenue.louisiana.gov
2. Download and print a sales tax return.

3. Overnight or Pay in Person* at the Sales and Use Tax office.

*In person payments must be in the form of cash (exact amounts only), check or money order. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.

ALL LOCATIONS IN TANGIPAHOA PARISH ARE SUBJECT TO 3.5% PARISH TAX.
This rate consists of 2% School Board tax, 1% Parish Council tax, and .5% Educational Facilities Improvement District (EFID) tax.
Additional tax applies if located within a city and/or taxing district.

** Educational Facilities Improvement District Tax went into effect on 7-1-2021.
This tax does not apply to food or home consumption or prescription drugs.
** As of 4 - 1 - 2025, the Town of Roseland has been annexed into Fire Protection District #1.
Locations within the Town of Roseland are now subject to 6.0% local tax.
