Tangipahoa Association of Music Educators (T.A.M.E.)
This is the Home of The Tangipahoa Association of Music Educators. Our membership includes all public school music teachers in Tangipahoa Schools. At our inaugural meeting on August 6, 2008, we voted to create this association so that we might expand the opportunities for music education available to all students here in Tangipahoa.
Members need not be members of any professional affiliation; however, membership in such groups (LMEA, LACDA, etc.) is encouraged.
As an association we provide services to all students enrolled in school ensembles. These services include Parish Honor Band, Large Ensemble Festival, Solo & Ensemble Festivals, and Elementary Music Festivals.
We hold annual meetings at which we conduct association business, enjoy professional development, and come together as an educational community. If you are a music teacher of any kind at any school, public or private, in Tangipahoa Parish, please feel welcome to attend our annual meetings.

Parish Honor Band
Parish Honor Band
Description
The parish honor band is designed to give students inspiration and assistance for a District IX Honor Band audition. Due to the fierce competition presented by other parishes in District IX, a parish honor band is necessary to introduce Tangipahoa students to the District Honor Band process.
The Parish Honor Band now uses a high-stakes audition process. Membership is no longer determined solely through nomination.
Membership in the Ensemble
Students gain membership to the ensemble through LIVE Audition. Names for auditions should be submitted electronically to the Instrumental chairperson approximately thirty days before the audition date (check the calendar for the exact deadline). Those students who audition:
· Must be able to read music at a basic level of proficiency,
· Must be enrolled in the school’s ensemble class,
· Must show self-control in behavior,
· Must be able to attend all rehearsals and the concert.
Please do not nominate students who cannot attend all posted events.
Chair-placement will be determined by this one round of auditions.
Auditions
There is a $5.00 audition fee for each audition a student plays. Students will pay this to their band program (or Boosters), and the School (or Boosters) will write one check for all students auditioning from that school. This must be paid before the student is allowed into the audition room. Audition Information is listed on the Concert Band and Symphonic Band pages.
Fee
There is $20.00 participation fee per student assessed for participation in the ensemble. Students will pay this to their band program (or Boosters), and the School (or Boosters) will write one check for all students participating from that school.
