We are Thankful that we are able to Give Back

Sumner High's Beta members hosted a food drive for God's Storehouse that is located in Amite, LA. The holidays are approaching fast, and now more than ever food is needed to help support those without. Sumner High School donated 639 cans. Mrs. Kati Splane and some of her club members went to God's Storehouse to deliver the cans.

We are Thankful for our Community Helpers!

Woodland Park Magnet School held their Community Day on November 8, 2019. Community members were invited to talk about their jobs to some of the Wildcats, while others made crafts, and learned how to write in cursive. Ms. Jadian Daniel’s second grade class also made PB&J sandwiches for the St. Vincent de Paul Community Center.

    Greenville Park Agriculture Project

The students at Greenville Park Leadership Academy in Ms. Ard's Journey to Careers classes were introduced to Agriculture in the Agriculture Food and Natural Resource career cluster. The students took on a project that consisted of planting a garden filled with vegetables, fruit trees and flowers. The students began to plant and water their crops. In the final analysis, they understood that it took strength and determination to complete such a scientific process.

While exploring the Architecture and Construction career cluster, the students designed and constructed greenhouses to protect their crops from the extreme cold temperatures. While completing this task they realized that critical thinking, teamwork and problem solving skills were very important.
