    Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

    Available to all high school juniors and seniors.  Awards up to $1000 a year offered.  To apply for this scholarship, you will need to write an essay. The essay should be between 500 and 1000 words. Your submissions must be sent by email to: scholarships at www.abbottandfenner.com

    Essay Topic: Describe your educational career and life goals. Explain your plan for achieving these goals. Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.

    Cory Guthrie Memorial Scholarship

    This is a one time scholarship in the amount of 1000 dollars to a graduate of either Jewel M. Sumner High School, or Loranger High School.                     Available to seniors who plan to attend Southeastern Louisiana University in the fall. This scholarship requires that students demonstrate interest and participation in leadership development activities.     BGP Site Solutions is offering a $1000 "Aspiring Fashion Professional" Scholarship to a student that is interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college.     The Hoffoss Devall Louisiana Safe Driver Scholarship

                    $2,000 scholarship open to any Louisiana high school senior who is a legal resident of the United States and who is enrolled in a two-year to five-year institution in 2019. No minimum GPA is required. To apply for this scholarship, create a short (30-120 second video) OR submit an essay (must be at least 1,000 words) telling us about one of the following things:

    1. Explain why you do not support or promote distracted driving (Ex: driving while texting or drinking).
    2. Explain how you prevent distracted driving and promote safe driving practices for yourself, friends, or family by providing specific examples.

    John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest

    The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation invites U.S. high school students to describe and analyze an act of political courage by a U.S. elected official who served during or after 1917, the year John F. Kennedy was born. The contest is open to United States high school students in grades nine through twelve. First-place winner receives $10,000. Second-place winner receives $1,000.      The Tangipahoa Professional Women’s Organization Scholarship Program, established in 2011, is funded through proceeds generated from our annual Women Mean Business Conference and local donations.

    Tau Iota Omega 2019 Scholarship

    The Tau Iota Omega scholarship is available to high school senior students who are enrolled in the 2018-2019 acedemic school year and seek enrollment at a public or private 4-year college or university for the 2019 Fall semester. Applicants must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.9 or above on a 4.0 grading system.  An official transcript must accompany this application.

    Email a typed 400-500 word essay to pinkieshigh1908@gmail.com.  In this well-written, multiparagraphed essay, address these questions: How has education contributed to who you are today? How will this award be used to further your career aspiration? Consider what sets you apart from the other applicants and financial need. Emails should be received no later than 11:59 PM on Wednesday, March 13.

                    In addition, you will need to submit a fully completed application package by the postmark deadline of Wednesday, March 13, 2019.  Ask Mrs. Imes for details and application packet. 

     

    10 Words or Less Scholarship 

    Scholarship Eligibility:

    A) Anyone who is between the ages of 14-25 who will be attending school in the Fall.

    B) This scholarship is provided by StudentScholarships.org. In order to apply for our scholarship follow these instructions:

    Young American Creative Patriotic Art Awards

    Each year, more than 3,500 high school students from across the country participate in the VFW Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest. The contest began in 1979 to recognize up-and-coming artists and encourage patriotism in youth. Any student in grades 9-12 who is enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States is eligible to apply. Maximum student age of 18 at time of local entry. The student must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national. The applicant does not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate, but the student must attend school in the same state as the sponsoring VFW Auxiliary.
