Each year, more than 3,500 high school students from across the country participate in the VFW Auxiliary’s Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest. The contest began in 1979 to recognize up-and-coming artists and encourage patriotism in youth. Any student in grades 9-12 who is enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States is eligible to apply. Maximum student age of 18 at time of local entry. The student must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national. The applicant does not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate, but the student must attend school in the same state as the sponsoring VFW Auxiliary. Tau Iota Omega 2019 Scholarship
The Tau Iota Omega scholarship is available to high school senior students who are enrolled in the 2018-2019 acedemic school year and seek enrollment at a public or private 4-year college or university for the 2019 Fall semester. Applicants must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.9 or above on a 4.0 grading system. An official transcript must accompany this application.
Email a typed 400-500 word essay to email@example.com. In this well-written, multiparagraphed essay, address these questions: How has education contributed to who you are today? How will this award be used to further your career aspiration? Consider what sets you apart from the other applicants and financial need. Emails should be received no later than 11:59 PM on Wednesday, March 13.
