Beginning with the class of 2018, students are required to apply for federal financial aid for college before graduating. All seniors are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to receive a high school diploma.
The new policy was adopted to significantly increase the number of students who go to college in the midst of a national hiring trend that’s requiring more employees to have postsecondary degrees.
The FAFSA is also used as the application for students interested in qualifying for TOPS.
