    Mix and Match Shoe Day

HWM CELEBRATES ATTENDANCE AWARENESS. Hammond Westside Montessori celebrated Attendance Awareness Week on April 23-27. Each day carried a theme and an activity the students were allowed to participate in. On Tuesday, April 24, the theme was "Walk Over Absences" and the students were allowed to wear mix and match shoes. We cannot stress the importance of our students being at school daily and holding everyone accountable. Pictured from left are fifth grade students Vatrece Harris, Jamil Jackson, Quavoanance Johnson, and Keshon Adams.

Students filled out a questionaire and wrote letters to different schools in the U.S explaining a little about their school and state. Students searched the internet for schools' addresses and were given envelopes to address and send out. Pictured is Derrick Miller showing off his letter for students at Wakfield Elementary School in Raleigh, North Carolina.
