Flu Information

It is the time of the year where absences are higher than usual because of the Flu &/or stomach bug. Unfortunately, it is a very common problem that arises every school year.

***Symptoms of the flu may include fever (over 100.4), body aches, cough and cold like symptoms, headache, nasal congestion, and sore throat.

***Symptoms of the stomach bug may include a sudden onset of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramping. Some students may/may not have a fever.

Keep your child(ren) home from school for at least 24 hours after fever, vomiting, or diarrhea symptoms have stopped and without taking any medication to reduce the symptoms.
Be sure to communicate with your child’s school to notify them of the illness.
Our schools are taking extra precautions in cleaning and disinfecting daily. We want the best for our students and our community!

Please visit the School Nurses page for more information.

Coronavirus Update

In keeping with our vision statement, the Tangipahoa Parish School System continues to develop safe and innovative environments for student learning. Although concerns over the Coronavirus (COVID-19) have halted classroom instruction, our district remains committed to offering educational opportunities for our students until they are able to return to their campuses. Sadly, the closure of our school campuses disrupts routine for our students, as well as their families. With this in mind, we offer the following information to help families adjust to schedule changes until classes resume. Click HERE for more information.
