Mrs. Gardner, Principal at Tucker Elementary School, took some time to read to Mrs. Morris' first graders in the Library today.  She read, "Bark, George!", by: Jules Feiffer and discussed key vocabulary in the story. The students giggled, as George the dog made different animal sounds, including: meow, quack, and moo.  George had to go to the vet, who corrected  his sound problem, but got a surprise at the end of the book.

  • Tucker Elementary students are having an exciting start to this school year!
Ms. Barker's 2nd grade class read, "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books."  Math concepts were utilized to enrich the story.  The students worked in groups to graph the items that the old lady swallowed throughout the book. This fun and silly story was a hit!
Jada Magee is smiling big to show off her homemade play dough in Mrs. Methvin’s 2nd grade class at Tucker Elementary School.  The class did a "Get to Know You" activity. Mrs. Methvin hid a few drops of food coloring inside the play dough, and the students got to squish the play dough around, in a zip lock bag, to see what color it would become. Then, they were allowed to take the play dough out and make things with it to tell about themselves (initial, favorite animal, food, etc.). It was a lot of fun, and they really enjoyed it!
