Saints Pep Rally

The pep rally was a memorable occasion with a former New Orleans Saints player, Deuce McAllister.  We’ve always wanted to meet a professional football player.  When we heard it was going to be Deuce, we were ecstatic. Our school won this pep rally for having the biggest increase in students eating in the lunch room in Tangipahoa Parish. Deuce talked to us about how Fuel Up to Play 60 program encourages you to eat healthy and stay active for sixty minutes each day.  We were also entertained with the Imma Saints Fan rap song performed by B Love.  Members from the Southeast Dairy Association were also present.

Deuce McAllister also stated that having positive attitudes and actions can help lead you to become a successful person. Deuce talked about his accomplishments in the National Football League and how he managed to be a successful person and professional football player. Many of us remember Deuce running the football and pushing the pile yard after yard. Billy Hinson was fortunate enough to ask Deuce a question at the pep rally. The question he asked him was, “What was it like to play professional football for the Saints?” His response to the question was, “It was a dream come true.  It was the most amazing feeling in the world to be able to play the greatest sport in the world for a living.”

Deuce said that the Fuel Up to Play 60 program is sponsored by the dairy industry and NFL players all over America. The program promotes living a healthier life style to students.  We appreciate Deuce McAllister taking the time to come and educate us about this program.  We also thank Deuce and B Love for signing autographs and posing for pictures.  Our experience at the pep rally will be a day to remember.
