Chemistry class ran an experiment to measure the amount of energy produced by various nuts.  The energy is stored within the carbon bonds and other bonds in the nut.  The experiment is to release the energy in a manner that allows students to measure the energy.  The students took various nuts to the lab and lit them with the burners.  They then let them burn out.  To burn out, they had to lose all the fat that was on them.  The students burnt many different kinds of nuts, and they all burnt at different times and made the water above them hotter for different nuts.
