Course Description

Computer Technology Literacy is a basic course introducing students to basic computer skills providing students with the opportunity to raise their knowledge level, confidence and skills in: 1) basic concepts of using the computer (including history), 2) word processing, 3) spreadsheets, 4) Databases, 5) presentations and 6) email and living online. Through hands-on use of technology, the student will become more efficient with marketable skills for today's economy. The student will learn to select the appropriate application to complete a task thus gaining confidence and security in being part of an operating of the "digital world." The student will also develop a working knowledge of an operating system, and the Internet. Computer technology information will be presented that could lead to the student's ability to obtain national certification in basic information technology.
