Many different people were connected in some way to the Manhattan Project and related activities. Albert Einstein, perhaps the greatest thnker of all time, had a hand in the Project. Einstein became aware of atomic development in Nazi Germany and wrote a letter to President Franklin D. Roosevelt warning him. This letter is one of the major reasons the Manhattan Project was started.
