Introduction
Congratulations! You have just won the opportunity to visit our nation's capital. You will have the awesome task of researching some very interesting places, learning about our government, and reporting back to your class about your findings when you return. So pack your suitcase and away you go on the trip of a lifetime!
Task
Your job is to visit several points of interest in Washington, D. C. After visiting each place you should decide on one place of interest to use in designing a poster. You should also include pictures and maps with your final product.
Process
Step 1
1. Go to Ben's Guide (K-2) Our Capitol -- Washington, D.C.
2. Print out a copy of the U.S. map.
3. Go to Ben's Guide (K-2) Games and Activities -- Coloring with Ben -- The United States of America
4. Print a copy of the Washington D. C. area. (Save maps to turn in with final report.)
Step 2
1. Visit weather.com - Local Weather - Washington, DC
2. Check out weather in Washington, D.C.
(Write down the weather conditions in your Social Studies Journal)
Step 3
1. Visit these places of interest:

3. Copy at least one picture from one of the sights.

1. Design a poster telling about your favorite place.

Conclusion
After visiting these places of interest it is my hope that this will inspire the students to inquire about other places of historical interest in Washington, D.C. They could also broaden their study about the places they did visit.
