Merit System


Meeting attendance 05 points
Field trips 10 points
Activities attendance 10 points
Fund raiser 1 point for each item sold


No points will be given for attending activity day meetings.
However, the adviser may issue extra points if she feels they have been earned.
At the end of the year, awards will be given to the outstanding
French Club members, based on accumulated points.

 

Le Cercle Fran^ais Bylaws
Ponchatoula High School

Article One
Name and Purpose

Section 1. The name of this organization will be Le Cercle Francais.
Section 2. The purpose of this chapter is to provide opportunities for high school students to develop
competencies in French language, culture, history, and civilization.
Section 3. The specific goals of LCF are as follows:
a. Create more interest in, understanding of, and appreciation of French language,culture, history, and civilization,
b. Strengthen the confidence of students.
c. Develop character,
d. Encourage scholarship and promote school spirit.

Article Two
Membership

Membership will be open to any person participating in French class or those who have taken high school French.
All members will pay annual dues of five dollars and may participate in LCF events.

Article Three
Officers

Section 1. Officers will be the President, Vice-President, Secretary-treasurer, and Historian. Officers will
be elected annually and will hold office for one school term. These officers will serve on the Executive
Committee and perform such duties and directed by the President and Adviser.
Section 2. The chapter will have an Adviser who will be a PHS French teacher.
Section 3. The President will preside over all meetings, promote the growth of LCF, and help the adviser with records.
Section 4. The Vice-President shall preside in the absence of the President and act as public relations officer for the club,
seeing that news stories and photographs are delivered to the school paper and yearbook and help the adviser with records.
Section 5. The Secretary-Treasurer will handle all correspondence, help the adviser with records, and send a typed alphabetical list
of all members to the sponsor.
Section 6. The Historian will keep a scrapbook including the annual report of LCF's activities, awards, and publicity.

Article Four
Meetings

There will be four yearly activity day meetings on the school's appointed LCF activity days. The meetings will be for the purpose of dealing with any business which may arise and hearing guest speakers. The final meeting will be for the electing of officers, receiving reports of officers and committees, and other related incidents. Other meetings will be held if deemed necessary by the President or Adviser.

Article Five
Merit System

Points will be given for participation in LCF activities to determine outstanding French Club members.

Article Six
Amendments

Amendments of the Bylaws will be submitted in writing at a meeting and will not be voted on until the following meeting. A two-thirds vote of the members present will be required for adoption of the amendment.
