Teen Scene: YOUR Teen News Leader!

ABOUT TEEN SCENE

Teen Scene was started by current President/Executive Producer and Host Trey Schmaltz in July 2002. “I knew there was nothing like this…and there should be,” says Trey. So, that’s what he did.

He encouraged other teens to get involved, and eventually there were just under ten teens from across Tangipahoa Parish involved in Teen Scene. After two and a half years of pitching the show and formatting the content, Teen Scene hit airwaves on February 16,2004, broadcasting to over 50,000 people on the NorthShore of New Orleans. From 2004 to November 2005, L.E. Wallace from WSTY TV-23 in Hammond produced Teen Scene. After a re-organization of the show, Teen Scene moved to FPTV-Channel 17, which gave Teen Scene the opportunity to expand and provide a better newscast. At Channel 17, L.E. Wallace produced the show, but was able to include more teens into the production aspect of TV.
