Cheerleading Clinic
In May the PHS Cheerleaders volunteered to
start a cheerleading clinic
for all girls ranging from Kindergarten to 8th Grade. At the cheerleading
Clinic the PHS cheerleaders were divided into groups and each assigned
an age group. Depending on their group, they made a cheer and dance to
teach to the girls and allowing them to perform what they learned to their
friends and family. After the girlsperformed, they were each given a
Cheerleading Clinic May "06" t-shirt, a football, and certificate.
The Clinic was very successful and a learning experience for both the girls
and Cheerleaders.

At the end of August, the cheerleaders
participated at the Community Pep Rally for the opening of the new Sports
Medicine
Clinic in Ponchatoula. Ponchatoula High Cheerleaders entertained the guest
with a
cheer and souvenir footballs. The Ponchatoula Football team, Wavettes, Flag
team
and Cheerleaders welcomed the opening of this new facility.

At the beginning of the summer, the cheerleaders
went to
Southeastern for the Special Olymipics. They would stand at the
finish line and cheer on participants.

The week of September 18, the cheerleaders
and dance team participated in a |
fundraiser to help raise money for children with disabilities and their families.
They made jugs and put them in classrooms and businesses around the
community. It was a very successful fundraiser and schools
all around the parish helped also. We would like to thank the people
that helped by donating. It was for a very good cause.
