ASVAB

 

11th & 12th grade

ASVAB, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. The ASVAB was developed by the U.S. Department of Defense.  It assesses academic ability and predicts success in a wide variety of occupations.  The eight ASVAB test areas are general science, arithmetic reasoning, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, mathematics knowledge, electronics information, auto and shop information, and mechanical comprehension.

Graduate Exit Exam.  Required to graduate from a high school in Louisiana.  Must score approaching basic on the English Language Arts, Math, and on either the Science or the Social Studies test.

Integrated LEAP.  Part of the Louisiana Educational Assessment Program.  Used to measure how well a student has mastered the state content standards.

PSAT/NMSQT

11th grade

PSAT/NMSQT, Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.  A standardized test that provides practice for the SAT and allows entry into the National Merit Scholarship Corporation scholarship programs.
