2009 PHS Golf Season

     The PHS golf teams competed in the toughest district in the state finishing 7th in league play.  Seniors Darin Moore and Jacob Fendlason led the way helped by sophomores Tanner Tomes, Matt Hampton and Matt LeSaicherre along with freshmen Nick Lemoine and Richie Tallo.  Darin Moore’s strong play in regionals qualified for the state tournament.
     The girls’ team had one player, junior Tyler Jackson, who improved greatly over the season. 

The Ponchatoula High Golf Team raised $500 dollars to participate in the Randall "Tripp" Roth Benefit Golf Tournament at Ormond Country Club in Destrehan. The team finished in 3rd place among over 40 teams.  Proceeds of the tournament benefited medical expenses for baby Tripp, whose mother is a PHS alumni..
