All Football Players,

Another season is quickly approaching us.  On this second break of the summer, you need to make sure that you keep yourself in good physical condition.  Our expectations for you are higher than ever.  Your expectations for yourself and this team should be high based on the commitment we have all made to this upcoming season.  WE MUST UNDERSTAND THAT 3 AND 7 IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

PONCHATOULA FOOTBALL PROGRAM
RULES AND CONSEQUENCES

I) Practice Rules
a. All practices are MANDATORY. If a player must miss, a phone call must be made to Coach Mike before the practice is missed. Coach Mike will determine if the practice is an Excused or Unexcused miss. Unexcused missed will result in dismissal from the team. Excused absence are death, school related functions or a doctor's note proving illness. Once a player misses 2 or more days in a game week, playing time will be affected.
b. When attending practice, it is the player's responsibility to give a maximum effort at that practice. Anything less may be deemed as being disrespectful and any coach is allowed to take action.
c. If you are an injured player or you have a long lasting illness (ex. Mono), you must attend practice as soon as possible and be a student of the game and also help your position coach with anything he may need.
d. SUMMER PRACTICES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE MADE UP. THE FRIDAY WORKOUTS ARE OPTIONAL FOR ANY ATHLETE THAT WOULD LIKE TO GET AN EXTRA LIFT.

II) SCHOOL INFRACTIONS
a. Any student-athlete that gets in trouble in school will be subject to disciplinary actions by the coaching staff. The severity of the school action will affect the severity of the football discipline actions. The actions will be left to the coach's discretion. If the football staff feels that this is a chronic problem, then further actions or dismissal from the team becomes an option. For example, we feel that being disrespectful to a teacher needs to be treated differently than a dress code infraction unless the dress code infraction is a reoccurring problem.

III) OUT OF SCHOOL INFRACTIONS
a. As a school we do not have the right to discipline a student for poor
judgment off campus. As a football staff we will follow the school rules
unless the problem is repeated or is so severe that actions must be taken.

IV) PLAYERS INVOVLED IN OTHER SPORTS
a. Players must maintain their weightlifting responsibilities. If the sport they are involved in does not lift weights then the player will make arrangements with Coach Mike to meet the weightlifting requirement. These players will be required to attend two sessions a week. This will take place on Mon and Wed mornings from 6:50 - 7:30.
b. Once the player finishes his next sport he must then report to the next football practice.
