Project Graduation – Senior tickets for this years event are now on sale at the front office for $15.  It includes a souvenir t-shirt, food and drinks for the night.  Before you leave this event you will be awarded a gift and someone will win $1000.00.  The more advance tickets sold the better the prizes!

Drivers Ed registration forms are available in the main office.  Class begins May 3rd, but all money and forms are to be turned in by April 26th.  See Coach Meyers or Mrs. Watts for more information.  3/11-4/23

Pre-order your 2010 yearbooks during first and second luncheto day for $50 and save $5.00.  You can place your orders in the yearbook room.

Prom tickets will go on sell on Monday the 22nd.

All High School the Musical rehearsals are mandatory thru the end of the show.  They will run from 3-9pm.

Seniors….It is Senior DVD time.  The quality and length of your PHS Class of 2010 Senior DVD depends on the quality and number of pictures you turn in.  Please turn pictures in to Ms. Johnson (rm 30) or Mrs. Hollie Thompson (rm 29.)  Start turning them in now!  They may only have PHS seniors in them.  All people in the pictures must be listed on the back.  If pictures are in a digital format they must have a list of all people in them also.  5/5-5/10

Ponchatoula Youth Baseball and Softball have extended registration another week. 3/11

There will be no FCA this week.  FCA will resume next week. 3/10

Teachers – Don’t forget to sign up to bring your classes to the library to see the Senior Art Exhibit this week Mon-Thurs.  The word is that it’s great!

Any girl interested in trying out for the 2010-2011 cheerleading squad should pick up a flyer and sign sheet in the main office.  Mandatory Parent meeting will be at 6:00pm in the library on Monday, March 1.

Students!!!    Do you have the music within you?  Do you and a few   friends get together on the weekends in your barn, garage or maybe living room to have a jam session?  Would you like to bring your band to the stage? Ponchatoula High PTSA is sponsoring Battle of the Bands on February 20. No cost for bands to enter. Entries must be faxed by February 9. Forms can be picked up at the front office.
Seniors:  If you have not ordered your cap & gown and graduation supplies, you must see the Herff Jones representative on Wednesday, February 10th, during lunch.  You may place your order or pick up a "late order" form on this day.  This will be your last chance to order at school before senior supply delivery day.  If you have already placed your order, payments will also be accepted on February 10th.

Juniors:  It is not too late to order your class ring and receive it at the class ring ceremony.  Ring orders will be taken again on Wednesday, February 10th, during lunch.  If you have already placed your order, payments will also be accepted on February 10th.

Jr. Boys – You may pick up a Boys State Application in the main office.  Deadline Feb. 18

The Honor Roll for the first semester is posted outside RM 66, Assistant Principal Dianne Richardson’s office.  If you feel an error has been made, please see Mrs. Richardson or Mrs. Adams in RM 66 during second lunch or after school. 2/4-2/8

The Friday basketball game has been moved to today. 

In support of the New Orleans Saints going to the Super Bowl, Mr. Kolwe is declaring this Friday, February 5, 2010 “Black and Gold Day” in the Tangipahoa Parish School System.  Once again, let’s show our support for the team by wearing black and gold and/or “Saints” shirt that day.  Students at PHS will be allowed  to wear blue jeans on that day also.

Of course, we are all hoping for a victory; however, no matter what the outcome, Monday, February 8 will be a regular day of school.  Thanks!

Good Morning Whoo Dat Nation.  The countdown to the Super Beauxl ison, and Black and Gold Friday is two days away.  You can help support your men in black and gold by supporting your Lady Wave Softball Team.  We have a new shipment of shirts that have just arrived for the  big day.  Short sleeve shirts are 15 dollars and long sleeve shirts are 20.  Do not be stuck without a black and gold shirt for Friday.  See Coach Hollie Thompson or purchase one during 1st or second lunch at the school store.  Go Saints!!

 Attention students – Please bring a new toy to help PAC collect toys for needy children in our community.  This marks the twentieth year of our annual Christmas Toy Drive.  As usual, the homeroom with the most toys will receive donuts and juice/milk.12/1-12/14

All students who signed up for golf – See Coach Grigas about tryout date. 12/8-12/18

Do you want a jeans day?  Well we need about 1000 more can goods.  Please continue to bring in the cans.  You may send them to the counselors’ office.  Please check the expiration dates.  A bag of canned food that expired in 2007 was turned in. Also, a bag of dried goods that was infested with weevils was brought in.

Drama Club will be auditioning High School the Musical on Monday, Dec. 14th.  All who are interested in being in the show must prepare a one minute monologue and a song to audition.  Rehearsals will start January 11th.  If you are unsure what a monologue is, please see Ms. Hue in room 43 as soon as possible.  Drama club members who audition will get 15 points towards a letter jacket. 12/11

The Lady Wave volleyball teams would like to sincerely THANK those who contributed to the fight against breast cancer.  With your contributions, the Lady Wave teams were able to present Covington High School  with a $150 donation for the CURE!!  There will be another fight for the CURE  game on the 29th of this month. Players are still selling shirts for $15 and taking donations. Please see Coach Long, Coach Amerson, or any Volleyball player for t-shirts or donations. We would love to exceed first donation of 150 dollars, and with your green wave support we can.

Junior Class ring meeting
Attention teachers:
A presentation for ALL juniors will be held in the auditorium from 8:37-9:27 this morning.  If you teach any juniors, please send them to the auditorium at that time.  If you teach ALL juniors, or if that is your planning period, please report to the auditorium to help seat and monitor students. 

Students may enter through the front two doors of the auditorium and through the rear door.  Before students go to the auditorium, please remind them to

  1. Fill up the rows from the front of the middle section
  2. Fill up every row, leaving no spaces
  3. Be on their best behavior, paying close attention to the presentation
  4. Bring their book sacks and belongings to the presentation

Note-All other students will follow the regular bell schedule.

Ponchatoula FFA is challenging the other clubs at Ponchatoula to try and beat the FFA Officer Team.  All you big, ad football boys are you tough enough to beat the FFA Girls? We dare you to try!

Having trouble finding time to go to the gym to buy a sweatshirt?  Let the Green Wave Store do it for you.  Come to the Green Wave Store by the cafeteria during lunch to order and pay for your sweatshirt.  The sweatshirt can be picked up at the store at lunch the following day.  Hoodies are $25, Crew Necks are $20.  9/16-9/18
