In
Memory of September 11

| We
made a handprint flag and talked about our country, its
freedoms, and the flag's symbolism. We also read
the book, "September
12th",
and talked about the events of September 11th.
|
The
children led a very good discussion about their
feelings. We said the pledge, discussed the
soldiers fighting for our
country,
and sang a few patriotic songs. |
We
made patriotic necklaces to show that we care about our
troops that are in the war as well as all of the
families that lost someone they loved on the sad day of
9-11. (We also learned to make a pattern in the
process...red, white, blue star, red, white, blue, star,
etc.)

Many
of the teachers at our school had the children make
these cute little patriotic headbands! We didn't
have time. I thought they were cute though. |
