The Natalbany Volunteer Fire Department came to NES to tell the students about fire safety. The firemen also showed the students some of their equipment and trucks.

Brody S. was named NES's winner of the Schering-Plough Corporation Student Research Award. He is being commended for his fine efforts in the field of science. He received a trophy for his work during the 2006-7 school year in Ms. Danos' class.
 
2006-7 News
Our Young Author Winners!

Natalbany Elementary School celebrated its young authors in a ceremony held at the school on January 26, 2007. Students participated in the annual Young Authors contest which attempts to encourage students in independent creative writing. All of the winners received a certificate and ribbon. First place winners also received a medal. The first place writings have been entered in the district level contest through Southeastern Louisiana University.

Penny Power
TARC came to NES Wednesday, January 31, to promote its' annual Penny Power fundraiser. This year their poster child is our very own Heath B. Children all over the parish collect change to support TARC's excellent programs.
                            
 
K-9 Visitors
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit came to NES Wednesday, January 31. They brought three of their five dogs to show the students how they find different types of drugs. They also demonstrated some of the dog's training, both in defense and obedience.
