RIBBON WEEK ACTIVITIES
October 26 - 30, 2009
Theme:
“Believe, Achieve, Succeed - Drug FREE!”
Monday- ‘I’ve
Got Better Things To do than drugs” Day
Poster Contest:
Students need to create a Poster
best representing the theme of Red Ribbon Week. They will be judged on
Thursday and the winner will be given a prize.
Yo-yo competition:
At recess we will have a yo-yo competition to see who is able to keep
the yo-yo moving the longest.
Tuesday-“Loud, Proud, and
Drug Free” Day
Assembly You
will have guest speakers today.
Bust A Rhyme:
Students should compose a rap, song, free
write, or poem with an anti-drug message. They will perform their rap at
lunch. Their performance will be filmed and shown on television at a
later date.
Wednesday-“Hand
in Hand Let’s Take A Stand” Day
Seeing Red: Students
should wear a solid red t-shirt over their school uniform shirt (solid
shirts only). They should also wear red accessories. The female and
male who wore the most red will win a prize. Teachers will also be
judged. Students and teachers who participated will be given the chance
to sign a red paper hand. The hands will be placed in a container
during lunch. At the end of the day, hands will be drawn from the box
for prizes.
Flying High:
At lunch students will make paper
airplanes and the student who flies their airplane the farthest will
receive a prize.
Thursday-“Dodge
Drugs” Day
Poster Contest: Posters are
due and will be judge.
Dodging it: Students
will play dodge ball at recess.
Friday- “Put the Bite on Drugs” Day
Red Ribbons: Students
will place their red ribbons in a box at recess for a drawing.
Assembly You will have
guest speakers today.
Making the “Basket”ball:
At recess, a basketball contest
will be held. The student who makes the most shots in a specified time
will win.
All Prizes will be awarded at the end of the day
