Math Stars is an incentive program that was created by Ms. Kathy Dagro for her seventh and eighth grade students.  The goal of this project is to increase the students’ knowledge in the math content area.  Ms. Dagro intends to achieve the goal   by using motivational factors and rewarding students that complete all homework, maintain their math notebook, and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.  At the end of the first six weeks grading period fifty-two students had completed the criteria to become a math star.  Their names were placed in a drawing for a TI 30 calculator.  The winner of the drawing and the Star Math Student for this first six weeks is Carl Barnes.
