The library is open continuously
from 7:20 A.M. until 2:45 P.M. All
students who use the library are
expected to observe the rules of correct
behavior and consideration for others.
Those who fail to do this may be denied
the privilege of use.
A student must have a library pass
signed by a teacher in order to work in
the library during class time. A student
must work on an assignment for that
particular class while in the library.
However, during the last 15 minutes of a
class period, a student may work on
anything. No pass is necessary before
school, after school, or during a
student’s lunch period.
When a book becomes overdue, notices
are sent to the student. If the
obligation is not cleared after the 3rd
notice, library privileges are
suspended. Fines are charged on overdue
books: $ .05 per day for regular books;
$.25 per day for overnight books.
Internet access is available on the
library’s 36 computers. Each student
must have a signed copy of the
Tangipahoa Parish School System’s
Internet Acceptable Use Policy on file
in the library in order to be issued an
Internet card. This card must be
presented each time the student wishes
to use a computer in the library.
Students are expected to abide by all
conditions of this contract, which must
be signed by both the student and a
parent. No e-mail or chatroom use is
allowed. No floppy discs may be used
without the permission of a librarian.
Any violation of usage rules may result
in permanent loss of computer
privileges.
Certain special services are
available in the library. Copies and
computer printouts are available for
$.10 per page. Lamination is available
for $.50 per foot.
TEXTBOOKS
All basic textbooks are loaned to
the student for his/her use during the
school year. Workbooks and other
supplies are paid for by the student.
Many of the textbooks cost $50 or more.
Students will be notified of fees at the
beginning of school. If textbooks are
lost or damaged, the student will be
required to pay for them before
receiving the year-end report card. In
addition, these fees will have to be
cleared before the beginning of the
school year. |
