“LEADING THE WAY TO ACADEMIC SUCCESS...!”

Principal's Message
To members of our school community,

Welcome to a new school year and welcome to our website, please visit it often for changes and updates.  I invite you to join us for our PTA.  Your involvement plays a special role in your child’s education. I’m proud to be serving as Crystal Academy’s Principal and have the opportunity to continue the success we have achieved thus far.

The significant improvement we earned on this past spring’s iLEAP and LEAP tests is indicative of the success that we attained last year.  Even though we remain below state standards we demonstrated growth in many areas.  While we are proud of this success, we begin this school year prepared to meet the challenges of ensuring that each child in our care is realizing his/her potential.  We will always be improving our level of service, and we anticipate a greater level of professional satisfaction as we work together to serve our community’s children.

Our focus on instruction remains our top priority.  We will continue with our established school improvement goals, and we will reach new heights as we challenge students to apply skills as they engage in higher order thinking and hands-on activities.  Our work with reading and writing across all content areas, problem solving skills, and collaborative practices among staff members will continue and be strengthened this school year.  Our curriculum will model rigor and relevance to ensure that we are preparing students for future success.  Our motto, “Achieve Here; Succeed Everywhere”, drives our decisions as we focus on what is best for our students.

The administrators visited each classroom during the first week of school to assist the students’ transition to a new school year.  We talked about high expectations, and we challenged them to do what it takes to be successful.  We addressed the need for them to demonstrate the will to succeed and their faith in themselves to believe that anything is possible.  Our Crystal Attitudes were reviewed and this year’s theme, “Success – Whatever it Takes”, will be showcased on the Crystal Attitudes T-shirts which will be the result of a student design contest this year.

As educators, we recognize each student as a valued individual who learns in different ways within the context of a safe and comfortable environment.  We are committed to providing a relevant, challenging curriculum to prepare students with the interpersonal skills and knowledge base necessary to become productive citizens and life-long learners in an ever-changing global society.

Great measures have been taken to ensure the safety of our students and employees by creating a crisis response plan and coordinating the efforts of the district’s Office of Safety and Security with county, state, and federal emergency management agencies.

I personally thank you for your efforts in teaming with us to serve your child.  We are blessed with an amazing staff of professionals who recognize the need for us to work together to reach the heights we target.  Please reach out to us to address specific needs or to pursue additional ways you can support the goals for our children.  I consider it a privilege to serve you and your family, and I welcome our partnership to realize the potential of our school community.
