As we move toward
midyear, I am delighted to report our outstanding performance growth.
After final calculations of the 2009 LEAP scores, Champ Cooper School
showed significant growth. Our School Performance Score (SPS) went from
88.8 to 102.2. Double digit growth of 13.4 points definitely deserves
strong recognition. I would like to commend each and every student for
helping to achieve this growth. In order to remain in good standing, we
must make improvement each year. It is my goal to achieve at least 5
points of growth this coming spring. LEAP and iLeap test are two factors
used to determine our (SPS). The other factor is based on our
attendance/dropout rate. If each parent can make sure to minimize any
absences and continue to assist your child with homework, I am sure this
goal can be achieved. With supportive parents, dedicated students, and
committed teachers nothing is impossible.
