SEXUAL HARASSMENT

The School Board recognizes that discrimination on the basis of sex is a violation of Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972, 20 U.S.C. Sec. 1681, and its implementing regulation, at 34 C.F.R. Sec. 106.31, which provides that:

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance”

The Board, therefore, maintains a firm policy prohibiting all forms of discrimination on the part of an employer-to employee, employee-to-student, or any other combination of these relationships within the work place or school setting.  All persons are to be treated with respect and dignity.  Sexual advances or other forms of personal harassment by any person, male or female, which create an intimidating, hostile environment will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
