TSW share their journal entries from Day 1 with the class.  The class will chant and clap:  “Your name is ______ and you like ______.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

TSW review letters of the alphabet through songs, rhymes, and letter flash cards.

M/GP:  Read aloud using the book Miss Bindergarten.   Discuss the book and all the different kinds of students.  Explain that each has a place in the class. TTW assist students in finding their place in ABC order line.  Sing the ABC song as students practice finding their place over and over.  IP:  Return to group and have students describe their place in line.  Ex.  Mandy is in front of me.  R and C

 

M/GP:  TT and TS will compare/contrast various shapes.  (round, corners, long sides, etc)  IP: TSW sort a bag of shapes by color and shape.

 (Act. #1, p.2)  TSW complete workbook page 17-18.  R and C

M/GP:  TSW review the meaning of the word mixture.  TTW show the cups of water and the salt and sand. TSW predict what will happen as each is put in the water.   TSW describe what happens.  Let the mixture sit for a few minutes and describe again.  Record predictions and results on chart.

M/GP:  TT and TS will create a class rule chart. “What do we want to see happening in our classroom?”  IP:  All students will sign the chart and TT will post it in the room.
