The Tucker Book Club meets once a month. After reading a required chapter book, they discuss the book, answer questions, eat snacks and assemble art projects. This is the 6th year Tucker has had a book club for the 2nd graders.

How do I get in the Book Club?
Students are chosen based on academic achievement in Reaing.  Scores from DIBELS testing, Accelerated Reading participation, and behavior are taken into account.  Books are read on a monthly basis and discussed at our meetings.

October: Happy Birthday Bad Kitty (Reading Level – 3.6) –  Book Club Meeting will be on Thursday, November 1st.

*Also, they can bring a hat or mask to wear during the meeting, since it is Halloween week.  We will be taking a picture to send to the paper.

November: Stink and the Great Guinea Pig Express (Reading Level – 3.7) –Book Club Meeting will be on Thursday, November 29th.

December: Flat Stanley – The Australian Boomerang Bonanza (Reading Level – 4.1) –Book Club Meeting will be on Thursday, December 20th.

*The children can bring a Santa Hat or any other holiday hat/necklace, etc. to wear for this meeting.

January: Callie (Reading Level – 3.9) –The meeting will be Thursday, January 24th.

February: Monday with a Mad Genius (Reading Level -3.8) -The meeting will be Thursday, February 21st.

*Students may bring a Mardi Gras hat, necklace, etc. to wear.

March: Flat Stanley – The Great Egyptian Grave Robbery (Reading Level – 4.4) - This meeting will be our final meeting.  We are going to do late night at the library this night.  More details will follow, as we get closer to March.  Book club members and their parents will come to the library to watch the movie and enjoy snacks. The students and parents can wear pajamas!  Don’t forget your blanket and pillow!  The movie will start at 6pm.  This will tentatively be Thursday, March 21st from 5:30-7:30pm.
