Mrs. Michel taught 7th and 8th grade ELA at HJH for 11 years before becoming a TangiFIRST Curriculum Coach for the past two years.  This past spring, she was chosen to be a TAP Master Teacher.  As a TAP Master Teacher she provides professional development on the TAP Rubric and research-based strategies while providing support for the teachers at HJHMS.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Charlotte Seymore

My teaching career began in 1994 with the Total Community Action Head Start of New Orleans, LA where I worked one-on-one with a special needs student. From there, I was the Director of the Salvation Army Early Learning Facility. My passion and desire to make a difference in the educational system ultimately led me to the New Orleans public school system in 1996. In 2004, my family moved to Hammond, LA. Since relocating, my devotion to education has only deepened and my career flourished even more. I am now serving as a TAP Master Teacher at the Magnificent Hammond Junior High Magnet School under the great leadership of Ms. Marquita Jackson where I work with an awesomely dedicated staff!


TAP is a system for teacher and student advancement.  Teachers are provided job-embedded professional development during the school day in order to best serve the students.  Teachers implement strategies within their classroom and analyze the data from assessments in order to meet the needs of all students.  For more information check out the following link:
