Meet Your Counselor

Greetings! I am Mrs. Marquita Imes, and I am thrilled to serve as the school counselor at my alma mater, LHS! Go Wolves! I currently serve as the Homebound Coordinator, 504 Chairperson, and I work with High School Redesign—9th Grade Initiative. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Family & Consumer Science and a Masters of Education in Counselor Education from SLU.  I hold various certifications, including National Certified Counselor as well as a National Certified School Counselor. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor.

This semester, we are happy to have a counselor intern from Southeastern Louisiana University working with our students. Ms. Michelle Bernard is completing her Masters degree in Counseling and will be here through May 2013 working with me and the students.

Students are encouraged to stop by the counselor's office for any academic, personal, or social concerns they may be facing. Parents, feel free to contact me by e-mail at marquita.imes@tangischools.org or by phone at (985) 474-8474 to schedule an appointment to discuss issues or concerns you may have regarding your child. I look forward to working with each of you!
