Below you will find the step-by-step directions for configuring your new Hewlett Packard  Laptop to wireless connections.

1. Turn on the Wireless Button on your laptop. (Blue light indicates it's on.)

2. When you turn on your wireless button a balloon will pop up in the bottom right hand corner of your screen by the System Tray that looks like this.

3. If your laptop has never been set up for wireless before, AND you have a wireless network within your range, this window will pop-up and you should click "Connect" at the bottom right hand corner.... when your computer has established it's connection to that wireless network, the button will change to "Disconnect."

If nothing is detected, you can click the link to the left of the box that says  "Refresh network list" and give the computer a chance to find an available network.

4. Once connected, you will see two things in your System Tray that indicate your computer is running on a wireless connection. The little computer will have )) on the side of it and the "wireless antennae looking thingy" will be active. If you are NOT able to connect through the wireless network, both of these icons will have a red X on them.
