Below you will find the
step-by-step directions for hooking up your new Hewlett
Packard Laptop to a TV with an S-video connection. |
|
1. Hook up the S-video cable
...

from your TV ...

to the back of your laptop. .

It's OK if the port in your
laptop has more holes in it than the S-video cable has
pins... it will still fit and work perfectly. |
|
2. Go to the System Tray at the
bottom right hand corner of your computer desktop. The
icon for Intel Graphics Media Accelerator is the little
blue monitor.
 |
|
3. Click on the Intel Graphic
icon and the choose "Graphic Options" and "Graphic
Properties."

 |
|
4.Under the "Devices" Tab,
choose "Notebook" for your "Primary Device" and
"Television" is your "Secondary Device." Click "Intel(R)
Dual Display Clone" and then click "Apply"...
"OK...OK...OK...OK" until you are out of all the
windows.
 |
|
5. Make sure your TV is on
"INPUT1" or "INPUT2" or whatever is the channel setting
for outside video sources for your TV... this varies
from one TV to another TV. |
|
6. Hold down the Function
Key (Fn) and then hit the F4 key (on the top row of your
keyboard).... Hit F4 once and the image is on one of the
screens (either TV or laptop)... hit F4 again and it is
on the other one... hit it a third time and it shows on
both...Make sure you are holding down the Fn key the
entire time. |
