1. Double click and
open "My Computer" |

2. Click "Tools" on the
top menu bar then "Folder Options" |
|

3. Click the "View" Tab
and then click "Show Hidden Files and Folders"
|

 |
|
4. Under the Hidden
files and folders heading click "Show hidden files and
folders" |
|
5. If you want to start
seeing the actual file extensions of the kinds of files
you are viewing, click to uncheck the box in front
of "Hide extensions for known file types". For example,
a digital picture has a file extension of
.jpg, clip art has
.gif, a Word document has
.doc, and a PowerPoint has
.ppt. |
