| Tangipahoa Parish School System has CLK (Computers for Louisiana's Kids) classes in five area high schools. Marie Edwards at Hammond High, Rochelle Bates at Kentwood High, Adra Johnson at Loranger High, Danny Thomasson at Ponchatoula High, and Bill Lambert at Sumner High are helping students work towards technical certifications. CLK classes teach high schoolers how to refurbish, test and operate donated computers, giving the students valuable employment skills and providing the schools with much needed technology. |

July 23 - 27, 2001 teachers from all over Louisiana met at Southeastern Louisiana for the summer CLK training. These teachers worked together to discover the best ways to train students in the Computers for Louisiana Kids programs. Teachers from Tangipahoa Parish Schools attending were Adra Johnson - Loranger High; Danny Thomasson - Ponchatoula High; Bill Lambert - Sumner High, and Rochelle Bates - Kentwood High; This annual training is sponsored by the Louisiana Corporate Recycling Council and facilitated by Amy Erwin and Susan Testroet-Bergeron.

Loranger HIgh CLK Computer Cowboys are really excited to have the opportunity to build new computers for Tangipahoa Parish Schools. To date, the students have completed 20 computers to be used in the school district. They were also able to build two new computers for use in the CLK class.
