My name is Amy Ard.
I am a school tech facilitator at Tucker and Champ Cooper Elementary.
I am married and
have a dog named, Hynes
and
two cats, Lamont and Walter.
I
am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. I attended public
school until 6th grade and then attended a Catholic middle
and high school. I played with the New Orleans Youth New Orchestra
from
1st
through 12th grade (a program through N.O. public schools).
My parents and siblings
still reside in New Orleans.
I
graduated from Mount Carmel Academy in 1999.
I
attended Louisiana State University for my undergraduate degree. I
graduated in May of 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
I moved to Hammond in the summer of 2003.
I
was accepted into the
Teacher Scholar Program
which is a graduate program at Southeastern University.
I received my Masters degree in Special Education in December of 2005.
I taught
5th grade
at Hammond Westside Upper for one year
and then was hired at Hammond Eastside Upper.
I taught 5th grade for a year and 4th grade for two years at Hammond Eastside Upper. I am one of the luckiest teachers in the parish since I am
working at schools
that
embrace every
technological
opportunity available.
