A-Google-A-Day:

Google Maps:  Google Maps is a map service that you view in your web browser. Depending on your location, you can view basic or custom maps and local business information, including business locations, contact information, and driving directions. Click and drag maps to view adjacent sections immediately. View satellite images of your desired location that you can zoom and pan.
Google Notebook: With Google Notebook, you can browse, clip, and organize information from across the web in a single online location that's accessible from any computer.
Add an endangered animal gadget to your iGoogle homepage.

TrackStar preparation
Explain the procedure for creation of Track Star. Have participants search and bookmark the sites they will use in Track.
 
Begin typing the questions in Microsoft Word on the “First Draft for TrackStar” file on the TangiTech CD. Use “Copy” and “Paste” with URLs so that you don't take a chance of making typos.

Participants will collect facts about the wetlands using online resources to design a wetlands conservation poster using PowerPoint.
Wetlands Math
Examine the information on the amount of land lost over a certain period of time in the Louisiana wetlands.  Use the LA Coast site to find your data.  The chart your data in Excel and create a graph.

World Book Online is available to all Louisiana students and teachers for free. Contact your librarian and/or HOTT team member for the login and password information you should use.
