Common Core State Standards
With approximately 46 states adopting the Common Core State Standards, the Louisiana Department of Education and the Tangipahoa Parish School System has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to transform education in our state and district and improve our student’s opportunities to compete globally.
Currently, for too many students drop out or graduate from high school without the knowledge and skills required for success, closing doors and limiting their post-high school options. The Tangipahoa Parish School System is committed to increasing the number of students who earn high school diplomas and enroll in college or have a career after graduation. Implementing the Common Core State Standards is a critical step toward ensuring that all students in the Tangipahoa Parish School System receive the education they need to become College or Career Ready.
