After intense training for 2 summers and weekends once a month throughout the past 2 years, the teachers at Roseland Montessori have completed the certification process and are now officially certified Montessori directresses.  In celebration of this accomplishment, Miss Ann's Chicken and Rock's Cafe donated chicken and cake for the teachers to enjoy on Friday.  Mr. Kolwe, TPSS school superintendent,  and Mrs. Andrews, TPSS Magnet Supervisor, came to the luncheon to congratulate these ladies as they received their certificates.  Now the teachers can enjoy the summer and start planning for next year!  Congratulations!

Teacher of Year
 Roseland Montessori names Philicia Mollere as 2012-13 Teacher of the Year.  Philicia teaches special education for grades 4-6, along with System 44.  She is a prime example of hard work and dedication.  Congratulations Philicia!

Copen and Connor
 
Copen Miller, kindergarten student, made it a mission to win the top prize of cookie dough sales at school so that he can give his cash prize to Connor Corkern.  He kept on raising money until he reached over $300.  Connor came to school to meet Copen and accept Copen's generous donation.

Magnet Registration
Roseland Elementary Montessori Magnet School is now taking late applications.  If you are interested in your child attending our school as a magnet student for the 2013-2014 school year, please contact us at 748-9307.  We would love to talk with you about our program and give you a personal tour of our school.   Space is limited in all classes.

Look what you missed if you were not at Roseland Montessori for our Open House!  The school opened the doors to the public for a special night time session so that prospective parents and students can see what the program offers.  The halls and classrooms were filled with smiles and amazement as teachers and administrators answered questions and current students showed off the Montessori work.  If you missed out on this open house event, you can still call for a private tour anytime at 984-474-8308.  Late applications are now being accepted.

food drive
In this season of giving, our students participated in a food drive for the less fortunate in our parish.  The students collected can goods and non-perishable items to be donated to the food pantry at God's Storehouse.  Not only does this service project show Montessori philosophy in action, but it also gives our students a chance to give back to the community.  Thanks to all those who helped.
