Jesse Blades is the Freshman Academy World Geography teacher. He has been a teacher at Sumner High for three years. He serves as Assistant Coach of the football team and Assistant Coach of the track team. Coach Blades graduated from Sumner High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. He is thrilled to be a part of the Freshman Academy.
 
 
 
Tabitha blades
 
Tabitha Blades is the Freshman Academy English I teacher. She has been a teacher at Sumner High for four years. She serves as Freshman Academy Lead Teacher, Beta Club Sponsor, and Lead Mentor of the SPURS organization. "Mrs. T" is a graduate of Sumner High School and Southeastern Louisiana University and is currently working toward a Master's degree in Teacher Leadership. She is excited to have launched this new initiative at Sumner High.
 
 
 
william lambert

William Lambert is the Freshman Academy Physical Science teacher. He has been a teacher at Sumner High for sixteen years. He serves as Associate Athletic Director for Sumner High School. Coach Lambert is a graduate of Greensburg High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. He also has earned two Master's degrees, both from SLU, one in Curriculum and Instruction and one in Administration. Coach Lambert is also the head of the Science department here. He feels the Freshman Academy is a unique approach to introducing incoming ninth graders to the high school experience.

Lisa Piner is the Freshman Academy Algebra I teacher. She has been a teacher at Sumner High for six years. She serves as 504 Coordinator, club sponsor of Students Against Destructive Decisions as well as co-sponsor of Project STEP which encourages safety among teenage drivers. Mrs. Piner graduated from Valley Forge Academy and Southeastern Louisiana University. She also earned a Master's degree in Math Education from William Carey College. Mrs. Piner also serves as head of the Math department. She is very excited about the opportunity to ensure every freshman has the chance to succeed.

Kristi Alford is the Freshman Academy Introduction to Business Computer Applications (IBCA) teacher. She has been a teacher at Sumner High School since 2003. She serves as the Cheerleader Sponsor and the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).Mrs. Alford graduated from Sumner High and Southeastern University. She is also very excited to be a part of helping ninth graders transition to highschool and send them on thier way to becoming successful adults.
