The Tangipahoa
Parish School Board met in regular session on
MEMBERS PRESENT: Tony Paul Ardillo, Jr., Al Link,
MEMBERS ABSENT: Leroy Hart and Jimmy Richardson
Mr. Robert Potts, newly elected
Board Member District B, gave the invocation, and Mr. Leonard Genco, newly elected Board Member
District C, led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mr. Potts indicated that he had
always had an interest in the educational system and he looked forward to
serving as a Board Member.
Mr. Genco also indicated that he
looked forward to serving the community and he appreciated the assistance that
he had received from the staff.

It was moved by Ms. Dixon, seconded by Mr. Williams, to waive the rules to consider items from the Hammond Delegation. Hearing no objection, the motion was adopted, with Mr. Hart and Mr. Richardson absent.
It was moved by Ms. Dixon, seconded by Mr. Williams, to approve the following items for Hammond High School, from Pay-As-You-Go Funds: purchase of fifty chairs @ $16.10 each, one (1) Digital Camera not to exceed $1,000.00, Piano Lab- not to exceed $22,000.00, reimburse Hammond High School $2,300.00 for the purchase of an Ice Machine. Approve updating the Hammond Westside Primary Computer Lab in the amount of $14,655.00, from Pay-As-You-Go Funds. Hearing no objection, the motion was adopted, with Mr. Hart and Mr. Richardson absent.

Link reminded the Board Members that the Teacher Tenure Hearing would be
continued on
President
Link also requested that information be provided to the Board regarding teacher
classroom loads as of
President Link indicated that he had received complaints regarding technology equipment repair. Superintendent Allen explained that Mr. Ragusa had scheduled a presentation to be presented to him and Mr. Kolwe regarding computer repair. The staff may establish a policy regarding computer repair. The Board will be given a report on this matter.
